I have been thinking about doing this post for some time now. Although, I know that it may offend some, but I am hoping to show the truth about birth control to the ones that don't know what birth control may do.
The following comes from
Birth Control in Light of the Bible
Hormonal birth control methods, including all types of birth control pills, the “patch”, hormone injections, implants, etc., perform two primary functions:
1.) They suppress ovulation. No egg is released; therefore, pregnancy is not possible. Depending upon which particular method is used, ovulation is suppressed 40-95% of the time. The other 5-60% of the time, an egg is released and can be fertilized.
2.) They thin and harden the lining of the uterus. This makes implantation of the conceived, 7-day old child virtually impossible. All hormonal birth control methods have this effect on the uterine lining 100% of the time.
Simple logic tells us that if an egg can be released and fertilized 5-60% of the time, and implantation is being prevented close to 100% of the time, a silent abortion is taking place 5-60% of months a woman is taking the pill, because the 7-day old child is unable to implant and dies. The “morning after” pill functions after the same principle to destroy the lining of the uterus, but in a shorter period of time due to higher concentrations of the same hormones.
The 5% figure is based on the use of the “combination” pill, which is usually a combination of estrogen and progesterone. The 60% figure is based on the use of progesterone only pills (“mini-pills”), the “patch”, or progesterone injections/implants. Therefore a woman taking even the combination pill for only two years statistically will have one chemical abortion during that time. A woman using a progesterone only method for two years could very likely have 12 silent abortions during that period of time, or one every other month. These are the most conservative estimates available. Other research indicates that women taking the combination pill could be ovulating up to 50% of the time, and that 70% of women taking the “mini-pill” could be ovulating every month. In almost all cases these babies would not be able to implant and would die.
“With over 17 million American women using the Pill and other chemical abortifacients, it is estimated that breakthrough ovulation and pregnancy occur so often…that between
“In
“Scientific papers suggest that escape ovulation occurs 4-15% of all cycles in patients taking birth control pills. Thus, as this booklet points out, early chemical abortions are a real and significant concern.”
The term “birth control pills” is accurate since they do not prevent conception, but birth. Perhaps the reason God has not ended the abortion holocaust in

I know that there are other ways with out using birth control to help prevent having children. This is something that you and your spouse would have to pray about and what ever the Lord puts on your hart, I pray that you will follow his direction.
Here are a few verses that may be able to help you, being that the word of the God is the best way to find answers to any questions that you may have.....
Genesis 1:28
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 9:7
And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply, bring forth abundantly, in the earth, and multiply therein.
Psalms 127:3
Lo, children are the heritage unto the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Psalms 127:5
Happy is the man that has his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
3 john 1:4
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children in truth.
Now these are just a few of many verses talking about baring children, and raising children to grow in the Lord, to fallow him in the way he would want them to go.
No one has the right to judge another about how many children they have, and if they choose not to have anymore. That is between you and the Lord. I pray that you will make a wise decision on how you may try to prevent from having more children, please do some research on the birth control that you may use, I am afraid that you are going to learn that it is not what you think it is.

good post, but "I know that there are other ways with out using birth control to help prevent having children. This is something that you and your spouse would have to pray about and what ever the Lord puts on your hart, I pray that you will follow his direction."...."...and if they choose not to have anymore. That is between you and the Lord. I pray that you will make a wise decision on how you may try to prevent from having more children." these statements confuse me. If God has gone on record then there really is no "pray to God about it....between you and God". The two just dont add up. I cut no slack to those who know the truth of God's word and then decide on the opposite, all the while telling people and themselves that they feel it is the lords will. Uhhh sorry, the Lord's will is revealed in the Lord's word. so everyone please do as Jamie states, study the matter out in His word and i bet it will not match up to what you are hoping to find.
Amen. This is something that bothers me deeply. I took chemical birth control (pills, the patch) for ten years. My father had me put on it when I was 14 to regulate my cycles (which could have been helped with eating better and losing some weight) and I took it up until I was 25 and read Michelle Duggar's testimony. I was so disgusted and angry, at myself, at the doctors who willingly held that sort of information from me. While is was promiscuous for a while before marrying, I shudder to think of how many babies I have flushed away. Is it okay to have babies before marriage? Not really, but I think it is much worse to just wash them away. No life deserves that.
But what is becoming more disturbing to me is that preachers will talk all day long about abortion (which is murder), but I have yet to hear them (at least the ones I've listened to) preach on birth control of this method. What is the difference? Aside from the age of the baby, nothing. Thank you for having the courage to post this, and may God always bless your willingness to be different for Him.
Great post! I couldn't agree with you more.
Thank you for bringing this information to light. I've known "the truth" about bc pills for many years now, but I've never had the statistical data OR been able to provide a written reference - I received the information from my Christian OB/GYN more than 20 years ago.
I too become frustrated that all the church leaders I've personally known and met preach/teach against abortion BUT whole heartedly endorse the use of various forms of birth control. I am still trying to find scripture that advocates the "prevention" of children.
It is my prayer that the Christian families who read this post will themselves search the scriptures with regard to God's plan for families/reproduction.

Thanks so much for sharing this information. I was on the pill for 9 months until I got pregnant with my first child, and four months after his birth, got pregnant while on the pill again. Do you think God was trying to give me a message?? God is in control of the womb.
No one ever told me about the abortifacient effects of the pill and most of my friends were on it at the time. Thankfully, the Lord led me to those resources last year. God has made it very clear in Scripture what His will is in this subject, and like you said, if they will just search it out, they will find out what He has to say. The problem is, most people will not search it out (I think because they know what it says) probably because of fear. Thank you for sharing this!
